NEW YORK, NY (November 21, 2011) — The New York City Family Caregiver Coalition honored Kathy J. Greenlee, Assistant Secretary for Aging, US Department of Health & Human Services, and Greg Johnson, Director of EmblemHealth’s Care for the Family Caregiver Initiative, at its Sixth Annual Evening of Celebration of Caregiving, hosted by EmblemHealth. Ms. Greenlee was honored for her work advancing and promoting the health and independence of older Americans. Mr. Johnson was honored for his work raising awareness of the challenges faced by family caregivers and for his efforts to provide much needed resources and information. EmblemHealth is a founding member of the New York City Family Caregiver Coalition where Mr. Johnson served as co-chair for five years. Sponsored by the Council of Senior Centers & Services of NYC, Inc. (CSCS), the Coalition is comprised of over 200 members delivering vital services, education and support to family caregivers while raising awareness and advocating on behalf of its members.
